ABOUT GENE
Gene Mazunov is a Los Angeles–based musician, producer, mixing/mastering engineer, guitarist, bassist, composer, and arranger specializing in rock, metal, and pop music. With a strong background in music performance, classical music training, studio production, sound engineering, and live audio, he brings a unique combination of artistic creativity and technical expertise to professional music projects.
Gene graduated from music school with honors and continued to develop his professional qualifications through specialized training in sound mixing and sound engineering, including certification from the University of Rochester. His experience includes original music creation, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, live performance, and collaboration with artists and bands in both studio and live environments.
As a mixing engineer, Gene has worked with notable artists including Lord Nelson of Stuck Mojo and Stephen Christian of Anberlin. As a musician, he has shared the stage with internationally recognized acts such as Tesseract, Otep, Adema, U.D.O., and Red. Gene is also a member of the Recording Academy, reflecting his professional involvement in the music industry.
As the creator of his own project, Next Door To Heaven, Gene writes, arranges, records, produces, and develops original music with a focus on powerful sound, emotional depth, and professional production quality. His work reflects a strong commitment to artistic identity, high-quality audio production, and impactful modern music.
